Causes of Air holes in spiral steel pipes

Spiral submerged arc welded steel pipe sometimes encounters some situations in the production process, such as air holes. When there are air holes in the welding seam, it will affect the quality of the pipeline, make the pipeline leak and cause heavy losses. When the steel pipe is used, it will also cause corrosion due to the existence of air holes and shorten the service time of the pipe. The most common cause of air holes in spiral steel pipe welding seam is the presence of water flux or some dirt in the welding process, which will cause air holes. To prevent this, need to select the equivalent flux composition so that there will be no pores during welding.
When welding, the thickness of solder accumulation shall be between 25 and 45. In order to prevent air holes on the surface of spiral steel pipe, the surface of steel plate shall be treated. During welding, all dirt of steel plate shall be cleaned first to prevent other substances from entering the welding seam and producing air holes during welding.
